Fortune is a gritty, yet comic allegory about a young woman finding her own voice in a harsh world. Set inside a fortune cookie factory ruled with Orwellian precision by its tyrannical boss, a young college student, Jen (Lynn Chen of Saving Face), spends her days writing proverbs for the company product. After a fatal accident takes the life of a co-worker, upheaval erupts between the employees and the boss. Haunted by the worker's death, Jen is forced to make a decision that will affect the lives of everyone around her.
